ASK for ANGELA

Similarly to the ASK for ANI scheme, ASK for ANGELA was launched in 2016 with support from night time economy venues, the police and the government. ASK for ANGELA was introduced in response to rising sexual assault cases during nights out.

The scheme aims to help people feel safer at night time economy venues and has been rolled out across pubs, bars, night clubs etc. The intiative urges people to ASK staff if they can speak to ANGELA if they are feeling uncomforable or unsafe. Trained staff members will know that this is actually code for ‘I’m feeling unsettled, please help me’. The train members of staff will then discreetly help you to leave the venue and order you a taxi.
