ASK for ANI
From 14th January 2021, people who are experiencing Domestic Abuse will be able to access physical safespaces in their local area. Launched by the government, this initiative has been rolled out across almost all independent pharamacies up and down the country.
The scheme allows people who are in abusive relationships to discreetly ask for help to trained staff members in pharmacies. If a person asks for ANI, the worker will know that is code for ‘I’m experiencing Domestic Abuse, please help me’. ANI stands for Action Needed Immediately and the trained member of staff will be able to offer a private space for a safe chat and will be able to point the person facing abuse in the right direction.
